Happy in the crib

Emma is pretty good at playing in her crib while I am making the bed or doing other things in the bedroom. While she is sitting, she can pull herself forward kinda onto her knees. If she does not have anything to lean on, she will roll all the way forward and end up on her belly. :) When we put her in the crib, she was facing the bottom of the crib, she has turned to her left and leaned on the railing. I hope that made sense...

She makes the cutest faces!!

I hope this works...this is a short video of Emma in her crib. I know have I said it a million times, but I just think her facial expressions are adorable!! I wish I knew what she was thinking.

She rolled over!

Emma rolled over last night! She was playing in her pink arch toy that her Great Grandma Mona gave her. She always lays on her side when she plays with it, so we looked down and she was on her side. The next time we looked, she was on her belly! So she rolled from her back to her left onto her belly! What a big girl! I think she could have done it a long time ago, but she sits up so well and that is how she prefers to play, so she does not spend a lot of time on her back or belly. As I am writing this, she just rolled onto her belly again and twisted around about 180 degrees, she had her feet towards me, now she is facing me. She is amazing! She is laying there making all kinds of cute noises, we love her so much! YAY for rolling over! :)

Eating!

We first started giving Emma solids (rice cereal) at about 5 1/2 months, but we were not very consistent for the first couple weeks because we had Christmas parties to go to and finals and so much going on. These pics are from the first time. She did really well and seemed really interested.

Of course it was a little messy!

She liked to feed herself...

Emma has tried many new flavors, like carrots, peas, squash, green beans, applesauce, and peaches. She still makes funny faces with each new flavor. She is not always interested in eating solids, and she still favors nursing. We are working on figuring out timing and feeding her when she would be most interested. We are learning and getting better all the time. She is really good at blowing spit bubbles, and that can get interesting when she has a mouth full of cereal, it ends up all over! Actually, it usually ends up all over no matter what, whether she knocks it out of our hands, or graps the spoon and flings it. She also really likes to touch it, so she will touch the spoon full of food, or grab the bowl, and then of course food from her fingers ends up anywhere and everwhere, literally from her head to her toes. Fun times!

Emma with...

Four generations of powerful women! :) My mom, Emma, me, and my Grandma Mona Emma laughing with my Uncle Dave Checking out Uncle Mike. Ya know, I just got to thinking, I'm glad that Emma is not afraid of men like some babies are.
Emma with Aunt Jenn and Grandpa Mike
Emma with Grandma Linda Happy as can be with Great-Grandma Mona!

Look at that smile!
So going through pics I apparently was not very good at taking pics of Emma with everyone. Sorry to those that I missed, Emma still had a great time with all her family!

Presents

Emma got lots of great presents. She got books about Jesus and Noah from Aunt Jennie and Uncle Caleb (in other post)., which are great church toys. She got this beautiful dress, shoes, and tights from Aunt Brittany, which she looks so cute in! Grandma Linda gave her a Bible stories flap book, and my favorite book, "Love you forever." We have read it to her at nightime several times, the first time though I got a little teary-eyed! :)

Uncle Brian gave her a farm animal noisy book. When we press the cow, she would make a sound that kinda seemed like she was trying to moo too! It is precious! The little outfit in the background is a cute Levi onesie and Levi soft jeans that grandma Linda gave her. She got so many great things, we are so blessed!

opening presents

Here is Emma going through the process of opening another present. The big ones kinda scared her, but she did really good and got the hang of it quickly. Isn't it cute how she sucks in her bottom lip?! Working so hard!

This is her getting a little frightened by the loudness and the largeness

WA Christmas

When we were in WA over Thanksgiving we celebrated Christmas with my mom and my siblings, it was great fun! Emma quickly learned how to open presents!

"I'm ready!"

Now on to more! ...

Thanksgiving

I had the privelege of planning Thanksgiving dinner. I planned the menu and even mailed out invitations. It was a lot of fun. Of course the event did not go as planned, but it was still wonderful! And Emma loved to be part of the action! Throughout the day she enjoyed napping, watching what everyone was doing, and to her daddy's delight, watching football! :)

We worked together
My sister and I really do like each other! ;) Her apron says "Domestic Diva," and is really cute, just like her!

We had dinner at my dad's house. He has been working really hard at remodeling his house, and it will look really nice when it is done. At dinner there was my dad (taking this pic), my sister Britt, me and Kody (Emma was napping), Brian and his girlfriend Pauline, my mom, Caleb, and Jenn. So much fun to all be together!
